Xero Shoes was born from a simple but powerful idea — to let feet do what they were made to do. Founded by husband-and-wife team Steven Sashen and Lena Phoenix, the brand grew out of their shared passion for movement, health, and natural living.
Steven, a Masters All-American sprinter and former All-American gymnast, wanted footwear that allowed him to move freely, without restriction or pain. When traditional running shoes failed to deliver, he began experimenting with minimalist designs inspired by barefoot running. Lena — a business leader and avid hiker — turned his vision into a thriving company built on innovation, integrity, and a touch of humor.
