Rieker was founded in 1874 in the Black Forest region of Southern Germany, originally crafting shoes for affluent customers in Northern Italy. Over time, the brand became known throughout Central Europe for its quality, comfort, and reliability.

Still family-owned after five generations, Rieker expanded its headquarters to Switzerland in the 1970s and now employs around 20,000 people worldwide, with production facilities across Morocco, Slovakia, Tunisia, and Vietnam.
